How is Polyurethane Synthesized?

If there is water in the environment, some of the diisocyanate polymerizes with the diol compound; a small part of it reacts with water to the outflow of gas (CO2) to form a porous polyurethane structure. This porous structure can also be described as foam or sponge structure. Those with foam structure of polyurethanes are usually used polyether polyols. Water is provided as the blowing agent in stretching foams and inflation in rigid foams is provided by using gases that provide thermal insulation next to water. In the case of non-swelling polyurethanes, the moisture in the components must be completely removed.
